About Us

Mariah Bondy opened Eastside Strings in 2025. She began studying the cello at a young age, and was fortunate to grow up in the Penfield Suzuki Strings program. After graduating high school, she decided to continue studying strings, receiving an undergraduate degree in music education. After graduating, Mariah worked as a string orchestra teacher in the Rochester area, and eventually went on to receive a masters degree in cello performance and pedagogy. Throughout her studies, she maintained a private music studio where she ultimately found her biggest passion in life. She has always loved connecting with her students through music, creating a fun and stress-free learning environment, and setting musicians up for success depending on their individual goals. After many years of studio teaching, Mariah outgrew her studio space and decided to welcome in more students by providing more teachers and more studio space! At Eastside Strings you will find all types of music students, and different string teachers excited to watch everyone grow. We look forward to working with you!
