Mariah Bondy founded Eastside Strings in 2025 with a vision of creating a welcoming community where students of all ages and abilities can develop a lifelong love of music.
Mariah began studying the cello at a young age and was fortunate to grow up in the Penfield Suzuki Strings program. She went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Music Education before beginning her career as a string orchestra teacher in the Rochester area. She later completed a master's degree in Cello Performance and Pedagogy, further deepening her expertise as both a performer and educator.
Throughout her education and teaching career, Mariah maintained a private music studio, where she discovered her greatest passion: helping students grow through music. She is dedicated to building meaningful connections with each student, fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment, and tailoring instruction to meet each musician's unique goals and aspirations.
As her private studio continued to grow, Mariah recognized the opportunity to expand her vision. Eastside Strings was established to provide more students with access to exceptional string instruction by bringing together talented teachers in a dedicated studio space.
Today, Eastside Strings is home to a diverse community of string players and experienced instructors who are passionate about inspiring confidence, creativity, and musical excellence. We look forward to welcoming you and being part of your musical journey.
